2010 Christmas letter

Dearest Friends & Family,
This past year has been an adventure! The highs have sent us soaring and the lows have felt almost crushing. We both agree that 2010 has been both the most incredible year of our lives while it has also been the most challenging.
Here is a peek into our 2010-
February we moved into our current home. A sweet two family house, with a yard that we enjoyed this summer gardening and hanging a clothes line. Our neighborhood is wonderful and our landlord is the greatest!
Our sweet daughter Abigail Charis Wright was born March 28th. This is forever a special day in our home as we celebrate Craig’s birthday and our wedding anniversary ALL on March 28th!
With the joy of our firstborn child came heartache and troubles we had not anticipated. Craig was laid off from his job just two days before Abigail was born. When our sweet girl was only 2 weeks old we found ourselves in a hospital for 4 nights as we agonized over her being poked with needles and her tiny body fighting something inside. We learned that she has a kidney defect and there is nothing easy about that for a parent. The next several months (and the months ahead of us after the new year) were filled with doctors visits and tests. For about 7 weeks straight, going to the doctor 3-5 times each week had become the strenuous norm. We plead with God daily to heal her kidney. We pray for strength to emotionally deal with the stress that’s still to come.
God is so good and has continued to provide for us. Craig was blessed with a temp job at DEKA just 3 weeks after being laid off. The timing was perfect as it came the day after we were discharged from our second stay at the hospital with Abi. Seven months later, he is still there and has been promoted! We pray for this to turn into a permanent job.
As we sought direction for our family and ministry, we felt a strong sense to start an extreme biking ministry. Other than our marriage, or parenting, we have never felt such purpose and passion as we do for launching CWTrials! The biking style already attracts a crowd, so we decided to use it to share the gospel. Events at concerts, youth groups and biking expos have given us the opportunity to promote CWTrials and use it as a tool to share Christ. We are thrilled for 2011 and the opportunities we have lined up already!
After printing our Christmas cards and just before we wrote this letter, we thought we would end it with the 2 greatest joys of our year- Abigail and CWTrials. Good thing we waited just a little bit! Within the past month we have had the joy and honor of caring for our friend’s sweet four year old boy! Nathan’s Mom is undergoing treatment for cancer, and while she recovers, we have taken Nathan into our home to be a part of our family during this time. It has been one of the greatest joys we could ever imagine! It is such a privilege to love on this little boy!
Please pray for us in this new year as many opportunities await. Pray for our hearts that they will always be sensitive to what God is leading us to do. Pray for wisdom as we make some important and rather big decisions. Pray for the two little ones, that they will grow healthy, strong and secure in our home. Pray for Nathan’s Mom, that God will heal her and she will conquer cancer! Pray for Abigail’s kidney and for strength in dealing with doctors. Pray for us as parents. That we will always practice being patient, kind and loving, even when we are tired after a long day and have had little sleep the night before. Pray that our home would be a place where the love of Christ is felt and our joy spills out.
Thank you for journeying through life with us. We love you dearly! We would like to hear from you! Contact us and let us know how we can best pray for you- our friends and family. Have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Love,
The Wright Family
